HomeThings to Do on KauaiOutdoors & NaturePrinceville Botanical Gardens

Situated on the lush North Shore of Kauai, Princeville Botanical Gardens offer an unforgettable experience for nature enthusiasts, horticulturalists, and anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Visiting this garden paradise makes it quickly apparent why Kauai has been dubbed the Garden Island.

Flora & Fauna

Princeville Botanical Gardens cover over eight acres of land, and they are home to thousands of different plant species from around the world. Visitors can wander through a lush jungle of tropical plants, including towering bamboo groves, colorful heliconias, and fragrant plumeria trees. Stroll through peaceful gardens filled with orchids, bromeliads, and other exotic flowers, or explore a variety of carefully cultivated terraces, each with its unique theme and array of plants. The gardens offer a feast for the eyes and a sensory experience like no other.

Chocolate & Honey

This beautiful garden offers more than eye-catching plants and flowers. The garden is also home to its own cacao trees from which they produce their own organic chocolate. They also produce honey from onsite bee hives. Your experience at Princeville Botanical Gardens won’t be complete without sampling some of their delicious chocolates and honey treats!

A Boutique Farm Experience

Princeville Botanical Gardens may be small in size in comparison to some of Kauai’s other gardens, but this is also one of its strengths. They offer a boutique, non-touristy experience that will provide a firsthand perspective of a real working island farm. This top-notch working farm specializes in growing exotic fruits, herbs, and spices that are used by local chefs and sold in local markets. Guided tours of the gardens are offered, led by knowledgeable and friendly guides who will explain the uses and benefits of each plant. Learn about the sustainable farming practices used in the gardens, including composting, water conservation, and pest management, and taste some of the fresh fruits and herbs grown on the property.
