Both Baby Beach and Kealia Beach are located along Ke Ala Hele Makalae, the paved path that runs along Kauai’s east coast. The adults in the family will appreciate a stop at the Koloa Rum Company, a craft distiller that uses local ingredients, including Hawaiian cane sugar and pure mountain rainwater. The tasting room is open from Monday through Saturday and includes taste tests of favorites such as Mai Tai rum, coffee rum, and pineapple passion cocktail. It is situated on a 105-acre plantation that also offers something for the kids, making this a family friendly outing. The Kauai Plantation Railway is a celebration of Kauai’s plantation days and is a working train that passes through a variety of crops and beautiful scenery. This 2.5-mile train ride also offers a fun-filled stop where you disembark the train to feed animals such as pigs, goats, sheep, and donkeys. The whole family will enjoy an outing to the Kilohana Plantation, which offers a glimpse of the past as well as present-day fun!
