Attend the Keiva I Kauai Experience

If you’re making your way to Kauai at the beginning of the month, you’ll be right on time to be a part of the Heiva I Kauai event which will be hosted August 2 and August 3, 2025. This celebration of culture, community and Tahitian tradition will be celebrating its 23 anniversary this year, and for just $8 at the door, you can be a part of the experience too. The event runs from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm each day over at Kapaa Beach Park, and is designed to be a family-friendly experience with something for all ages to enjoy. When you attend, you can count on experiencing vibrant rhythms of Tahitian dance performances as well as impressive drumming demonstrations and FireKnife exhibitions as well. Incredible performances are on the lineup for this event as well as thrilling competitions spanning drumming and dance alike. Saturday will feature solo competitions across age groups, and the always highly anticipated FireKnife competition will be hosted on Saturday evening. In addition to breathtaking performances, attendees of this event can enjoy browsing locally crafted apparel and art while savoring a wide variety of island foods too. This event is set up to be ADA accessible and will once again be supported by the County of Kauai in tandem with the Hawaii Tourism Authority and the greater Kapaa business community as a way to showcase local culture and heritage.

Enjoy a One-of-a-Kind Comedy Magic Show This August

On Thursday, August 7, 2025, locals and visitors alike are invited to attend a fun comedy magic show over at The Cabana Bar & Grill in Koloa. This is the first in a series of shows scheduled to be hosted on Thursdays throughout the month that will continue to run through September 4. The fun gets underway at 6:30 pm over at 2290 Poipu Road, and the entertainment is expected to last until around 8:30 pm. There are pre-show cocktails and bites available for those who show up early and it’s good to note that the show’s content is designed primarily for families, with a focus on children 8 and up. Tickets are $80 to enjoy the comedic and magical stylings of Steve Spill and Bozena who have entertained the likes of Adam Sandler, Howie Mandel, Chris Rock, Elton John, and Neil Patrick Harris just to name a few of many over the course of their careers. The end of August this year will be marked by the annual Kauai Marathon and Half Marathon events on the island. Participants and spectators alike will gather at Koloa Landing Resort at 2641 Poipu Road on August 31, 2025, to celebrate the 16th year of this challenging event. The races are expected to last from 6:00 am until 1:00 pm, and runners are treated to inspiring hula and Taiko drum performances along the route. When you cross the finish line, there will be a celebration to pay tribute to everyone’s incredible efforts. This is a race not to miss this year whether you’re looking to lock in your best time, or you’re cheering on athletes at the finish line.
